Joanna Jędrzejczyk and Rose Namajunas have officially made weight for their highly anticipated strawweight title clash tomorrow night at UFC 217 at Madison Square Garden. The challenger, Namajunas, made weight at 114 pounds whilst the champion, Jedrzejczyk, tipped the scales at 115 pounds.Rose Namajunas (6-3) will attempt to capture the strawweight title for the second time in her career. She first fought for the title in December of 2014, after a successful run on season 20 of The Ultimate Fighter. Despite losing the title match to Carla Esparza via third round submission, Namajunas remained a division front runner. She is coming of a second round submission of Michelle Waterson in what many considered to be a title eliminator.
Joanna Champion (14-0) will attempt to tie Ronda Rousey’s record of six title defenses. Joanna last fought in May of this year at UFC 211, dispatching of Brazilian contender Jessica Andrade.
