UFC Tampa results: Joanna Jedrzejczyk defeats Michelle Waterson via unanimous decision

Saturday night at the UFC Tampa event, Joanna Jedrzejczyk emerged victorious in the strawweight main event, defeating Michelle Waterson via unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 49-46).

UFC on ESPN+ 19 took place on Saturday October 12, 2019, from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, United States. The main card headlined by Jedrzejczyk vs. Waterson was aired live on ESPN+ from 8pm EST.

  1. Is anyone really surprised by this result? I think Michelle Waterson would be perfect for a Atom Weight division. The Women’s Strawweight division ain’t no joke.

  2. Michelle was atomweight champ in another federation before joining UFC. But she’s now too heavy to cut to atomweight. I understand she walks around at 130. That would be the equivalent of a light heavyweight walking around at 250 or 255.

  3. You mean like Cormier? All kidding aside, I agree; Michelle has added too much muscle since her AW days. Heck, she was having a hell of a problem making 105 before she started bulking up. Perhaps they should add a Super Atomweight division instead at 108. It’s popular in Asia and although 3 pounds doesn’t sound like much, those last 3 pounds you cut are the hardest.

    1. Yeah, I wonder if there’s any way she could de-muscle, but her age is also working against her for ever making 105 again.
