UFC releases Kailin Curran

It appears that the UFC has parted ways with strawweight Kailin Curran.

Per @UFCFIGHTERSiNFO, a Twitter account that monitors the UFC active roster, Kailin Curran has been removed.

Curran holds a professional record of 4-6. She is 1-6 in the UFC.

Curran began her UFC career in 2014, earning FOTN honors in a loss to Paige VanZant. In her sophomore UFC appearance she took on TUF alum Alex Chambers. She was ahead on the scorecards versus Chambers before succumbing to a third round arm bar submission by the Australian.

The Hawaiian fighter earned her first UFC victory in December of 2015, submitting Emily Kagan in the second round. She followed up that performance dropping a close decision to a debuting Jamie Moyle. Kailin next faced Felice Herrig, losing in the first round via rear naked choke submission.

Her last two UFC appearances were hard fought decision losses to Alexandra Albu and Xianon Yan, respectfully. Though Curran found herself down on the scorecards in both fights, she was never out.

Would you like to see Curran in Invicta?

  1. No! she is a true Pacific hottie and fought with heart and looked good doing it.
I guess because of her marketability, she has that Jessica Eye quality to her, being able to lose over and over and and over but still stay in the uFC.
But apparently going 1-7 was the limit. poor her. She can go to Invicta (but make only 2000 a fight) or maybe OneFC and make probably more.

    1. Yes, I’ll be sad to see her go. She always put on a good fight. Hope like Angela Hill, she can regroup and come back even stronger. That would be sweet if ONE picked her up.
