This Saturday at the UFC on FOX 27 event, Katlyn Chookagian makes her highly anticipated return to flyweight when she battles Italy’s Mara Romero Borella.
The “Blonde Fighter” will be looking to make a statement in her first 125-pound appearance with the UFC. The 29-year-old feels she has been undersized at 135-pounds and is confident that at flyweight fans will get to see her true skillset. Chookagian’s sole career loss is a controversial split decision to Liz Carmouche.
Back in July 2016, Chookagian (9-1-0) made a successful UFC debut by dominating Lauren Murphy for the unanimous decision win. Murphy has since moved down to flyweight is considered one of the UFC’s top contenders in the weight-class. She is ranked at number-two in the UFC’s media rankings and number-six in the WMMA World Rankings. Chookagian’s win over Murphy certainly shows what she is potentially capable of in the new UFC’s newly minted division.
