UFC Fight Night 138 results: Talita Bernardo gets first UFC win with decision over Sarah Moras

Tonight, in Moncton, Canada, bantamweights Sarah Moras and Talita Bernardo took to the stage in what was the sole women’s fight of the night.

RECAP: Interesting fight between two talented grapplers. Both fighters showed major improvements from their last fights in the striking departments and there were some really fun scrambles and grappling transitions on the ground. Both fighters had their moments– landing on the feet and scoring takedowns. Through the three rounds, it was Bernardo who appeared to to be one step ahead. She accumulated more ground control that likely should carry her to a decision win.

Talita Bernardo def. Sarah Moras via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

  1. I gave Sarah the first round and Talita the rest. At 5’4, she looks like she could break into the top 10 at FW if she cut a bit more weight.

    1. doubtful. afraid neither Sarah nor Talita are top 10 Talents. maybe Sarah could be a top 10 at 145 due purely to lack of depth. fighting in a division of slower opponents with less conditioning is a plus for Bernardo. anybody with some hand speed will wreck her and you know fighters get quicker as you go down in weight.

heck, I think Lauren Murphy needs to call 125 experiment a failure. she has looked like a shell of herself physically and keeps losing to vastly less experienced fighters who only have youth and athleticism on their side. going down in weight isn’t a good move for everyone.
