UFC 238: Karolina Kowalkiewicz makes quick return, meets Alexa Grasso

An exciting strawweight matchup between two top fifteen ranked contenders has been added to UFC 238 in Chicago on June 8.

Following a decision loss to Michelle Waterson in March, Karolina Kowalkiewicz (12-4) makes a quick turnaround to face Mexican prospect Alexa Grasso (10-2).

Poland’s Kowalkiewicz will look to snap a two-fight skid when she faces Grasso. The former title challenger is 2-2 in her last four.

Grasso returns to the Octagon in her first bout since May– a submission loss to Tatiana Suarez. She has had three fights in a row cancelled– one versus Angela Hill and two against Marina Rodriguez.

Who will you be rooting for?

  1. Definitely Karolina. She desperately needs a victory, although I would not be surprised if the UFC kept her if she suffered a narrow loss. She’s quite popular and has been fighting the best.

I am surprised they lined up a fight for Karolina sooner than they did for Weili. It seems like the fight to make is Gadleha vs. Zhang, as Gadelha is the only fighter in the top 7 that hasn’t been booked. I wonder if the UFC is having trouble finding someone to fight her.

    1. i hope KK wins. she got her block ROCKED by andrade, probably one of those “never the same again” losses. She mixes her martial arts. Grasso only boxes, i like her but she is one dimensional

    2. I think Gadelha is at a crossroads and maybe is just kinda wondering what’s going on with her career after losing so handily to Andrade and Ansaroff. She’s a bit on the short side, but I think Gadelha should think about going up to 125.
