#TUF26 Results: Lauren Murphy (No. 3) vs Nicco Montano (No. 14)

On tonight’s episode of TUF, former UFC bantamweight Lauren Murphy faced Nicco Montana.

Both fighters met in the center of the octagon when the bell rang. Murphy, per usual, came out aggressive pushing the pace. The southpaw, Montano, did a good job of keeping her range and landing solid kicks. After a few clean kicks landed, Murphy started looking for the clinch and takedown. Montano showed stellar takedown defense, and the round ended with both fighters on the feet.

The second round was more of the same of the first. Both fighters had their moments but it was Montano who defended all Murphy’s takedown attempts. She also landed the cleaner and more effective strikes throughout two rounds.

After two rounds, the judges finalized their decision. Herb Dean announced Nicco Montana the victor via unanimous decision. Montano will move on to the quarter finals.

A devestates Murphy was consoled by her team backstage. She congratulated Montano on the win. Post-fight, Murphy appeared on TUF Talk with Karyn Bryant and UFC middleweight champion Micheal Bisping.

  1. Thanks for not publishing the results in the subject line of the email, Noah. Greatly appreciated. I sure wasn’t expecting those results prior to today but in the lead up to the fight in today’s episode, I was not overly impressed with Lauren’s attitude. Had me wondering if she was going to be able to pull it off after all. Obviously not.
