TUF 27 Finale weigh-in results: All WMMA fighters successfully make weight, Friday’s fights are made official

The UFC’s Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale event takes place this Friday July 6 from the T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.

An exciting flyweight fight features on the main card when former world title challenger Roxanne Modafferi takes on former Invicta FC champ Barb Honchak. The pair fought once before in 2011 with Honchak picking up the third-round submission win.

Meanwhile on the preliminary card a pair of exciting prospects make their second UFC appearances when Montana De La Rosa takes on Rachael Ostovich. Both women made their UFC debuts last December, both picking up first-round submission wins.

Ahead of Friday’s big event, all four women have successfully made weight. Take a look at the official weigh-in results below:

Main Card (FOX Sports 1 at 10 p.m. ET)
Roxanne Modafferi (125) vs. Barb Honchak (125.5)

Prelims (FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET)
Montana De La Rosa (125.5) vs. Rachael Ostovich (125.5)

  1. Am I alone in thinking that’s rather odd that the UFC continues to match up TUF fighters with one another rather than with UFC fighters changing weight divisions or fighters outside TUF and the UFC? Could it be that they’re concerned as to how they’ll look against outside competition?

    1. JR, I think you hit the nail on the head! I think that the 125 division (as I believe you have mentioned before) is going to be dominated by the 135ers who dropped down. It is interesting that they have seemingly somewhat avoided matching up the TUF fighters with others and I think it is to protect the image of TUF gathering the top available signees.
