Top-ten ranked atomweights collide at Friday’s Invicta FC 26 event when Amber Brown battles Tessa Simpson

This Friday’s Invicta FC 26 event will feature an exciting women’s atomweight showdown between Amber “The Bully” Brown and Tessa “The Typhoon” Simpson. Both women are ranked amongst the top-ten in the world at 105-pounds, as according to the WMMA World Rankings.

“The Bully” is the number-seven ranked women’s atomweight fighter in the word.

Brown (6-4-0) is a 28-year-old from Albuquerque, New Mexico who trains at the Fit NHB gym, along with UFC flyweight champion Nicco Montano. She has finished four of her six career victories, owning impressive submission wins over fellow top-ten ranked contenders, Shino VanHoose and Catherine Costigan.  “The Bully” is the number-seven ranked women’s atomweight fighter in the world, according to the WMMA World Rankings.

Simpson (5-2-0) is a 31-year-old born in Guam but now fighting out of the Austin Kickboxing Academy in Austin, Texas. She has long been one of the most highly touted prospects in the division but suffered a minor setback in her last showing, losing a split decision to number-three ranked Herica Tiburcio. She owns notable victories over Combate Americas star Paulina Granados, as well as top DEEP JEWELS contender, Satomi Takano. “The Typhoon” is ranked number-ten in the world at atomweight.

Invicta FC 26 takes place this Friday December 8 from the Park Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The entire event will be aired live on UFC Fight Pass from 8pm EST.

  1. Should be a good one. In the meantime, has anyone heard of what’s become of Ayaka Hamasaki. Speaking of top atomweights (according to some), now that Souza’s moved to the UFC, is Hamasaki going to give 115 another try or drop back down to 105, or given that she’s 35, is she retiring?
