Tiffany Van Soest victorious at GLORY 55 in New York

Last night,  at GLORY 55  kickboxing at Madison Square Garden, Tiffany Van Soest returned to the ring for the first time since losing her GLORY bantamweight title to Anissa Meksen.

“Timebomb” welcomed a GLORY promotional newcomer on a 21-fight win streak from Sweden in Sofia Olofsson. Olofsson, known for her Muay Thai prowess, is competing in kickboxing for the first time.

After three hard rounds, Van Soest was announced the winner via split-decision. The bout was back and forth with both fighters having moments and landing quality shots. After the fight, Van Soest told Anissa Meksen she was coming for her title.

Despite the loss, Olofsson is one to watch in GLORY.

Tiffany Van Soest def. Sofia Olofsson via split-decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28).

  1. I could have seen the fight go either way depending on what the judge appreciated more, the number of strikes, where Sofia dominated, or the impact or power of the shots, where Tiffany was more impressive. Not surprised that it was a split decision.
