Tecia Torres VS Michelle Waterson set for UFC 218 on December 2

A women’s strawweight fight between Tecia Torres and Michelle Waterson has been added to the UFC 218 event on December 2.

Waterson is looking to rebound from her submission loss to Rose Namajunas.

Torres (9-1-0) is the number-six ranked strawweight fighter in the world, behind Rose Namajunas, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Claudia Gadelha, Jessica Andrade and of course the 115-pound champion of the world, Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Her sole career loss comes to Rose Namajunas, losing a very close decision back in April 2016. She owns notable victories over Paige VanZant, Felice Herrig, Angela Hill, as well as a 2013 decision victory over Namajunas. “The Tiny Tornado” made a statement in her last fight by picking up her first ever career finish, submitting Juliana Lima in the second round, she plans to do the same again and eventually challenge for the belt.

Waterson (14-5-0) is the number-seven ranked strawweight fighter in the world. She looks to rebound from a devastating loss to Rose Namajunas this past April, which saw her being submitted via rear-naked choke following a brutal head kick. The 31-year-old owns UFC victories over Angela Magana and Paige VanZant. “The Karate Hottie” will be looking to pick up her third UFC victory and rebuild her case for a potential shot at 115-pound gold.

  1. I’ve been looking forward to this fight for a long, long time. Even though Tecia is ranked higher, I’m leaning towards Michelle but would not be surprised either way.
