Tecia Torres believes upcoming fight against Jessica Andrade should have been main event of UFC on FOX 28

UFC strawweight Tecia Torres believes this Saturday’s scheduled fight against Jessica Andrade should have been the main event of UFC on FOX 28, instead of being the co-main event.

Torres believes her fight against Andrade should have been the main event.

Torres (9-1-0) is being tipped for a title shot if she is able to get past Andrade this Saturday. The “Tiny Tornado” feels as though the importance of the fight makes it more deserving of the main event slot than Jeremy Stephens vs. Josh Emmett.

I think that this fight should definitely be the main event but it really doesn’t matter,” Torres told MMA NYTT. “At the end of the day, I’m grateful for the fight and I just want to get in there and get another big victory so I can get one step closer to the title fight. “Looking at the card, I definitely think our fight should be in that spot but it’s OK.”

I do believe that for sure,” Torres continued. “I believe that will be the fight to watch at the end of the night.”

  1. I agree. I think the title implications are greater for this fight than for the main, whether the main event’s fighters are more reputable/well-known or not…
