UFC Fight Night 129 takes place this Saturday May 19 from the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile.
The event is co-headlined by a strawweight showdown between Mexico’s Alexa Grasso (10-1) and undefeated Tatiana Suarez (5-0). It’s worth noting that Suarez is the biggest betting favorite on the entire card, the TUF 23 winner is currently installed as a minus-750 favorite over +475 underdog Alexa Grasso.
It’s should be no surprise that Suarez is such a huge favorite after dominating the competition on the TUF 23 reality show and having the same success in the UFC since. Mackenzie Dern may be receiving a lot of hype thanks to her BJJ credentials, however Suarez has accomplished similar in the sport of freestyle wrestling and prior to making the move to MMA was ranked the number-one freestyle wrestler in the United States at 55kg.
Elsewhere on the main card, Andrea Lee (8-2) makes her highly anticipated promotional debut to take on Veronica Macedo (5-1-1). The former LFA champ in Lee is the betting favorite at +245 to Macedo’s -315
Meanwhile on the preliminary card, Brazil’s Poliana Botelho (6-1) and Japan’s Syuri Kondo (6-0) both make their second UFC appearances following successful debuts. Botelho is being tipped to win at -165, compared to Kondo’s +135.
