This Sunday’s UFC Fight Night 124 early preliminary card features a bantamweight bout between Mexico’s Irene Aldana and Brazil’s Talita Bernardo. Both women will be searching for their first UFC victory.
Aldana (7-4) looks to rebound from a two-fight losing streak after dropping decisions to Katlyn Chookagian and Leslie Smith. Prior to joining the UFC, the 29-year-old enjoyed a highly successful 4-1 run with Invicta FC, picking up first round stoppages over Peggy Morgan, Colleen Schneider, Jessamyn Duke and Faith Van Duin. Her sole loss with the organization came to Tonya Evinger.
Bernardo (5-2) made an unsuccessful UFC debut this past September, finding herself victim of a third round TKO at the hands of Leslie Smith. The 30-year-old was on a four-fight win streak before joining the UFC, which included three first-round submissions.
UFC Fight Night 124 takes place this Sunday January 14 from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. The early prelims featuring Bernardo vs. Aldana will be aired live on UFC Fight Pass from 6pm ET.
