Sinead Kavanagh versus Olga Rubin official for Bellator 217 in Dublin

A pair of fun featherweight fights have been added to Bellator 217 in Dublin, Ireland, on Feb. 23.

A press release from Bellator made the bouts official.

Ireland’s own Kavanagh (5-3) will look to bounce back from a loss to Janay Harding– a TKO caused by a cut at the end of round one.

Unbeaten Rubin (5-0) will look to remain unbeaten fresh off the biggest win of her a career– a decision over the battle-tested veteran Cindy Dandois in Nov.

Kavanagh vs. Rubin will take place on the main card.

Announced for the preliminary card, Hatice Ozyurt (1-6) will take on Leah McCourt (1-1).

  1. Hatice is 1-6?! What’s w/Bellator? Have they no standards? At least it’s a marked improvement over one of their most recent 0-0 recruits, Anastasia Bruce, who has a 0-12 amateur record. Who turns pro w/a 0-12 record? Who brings on a fighter w/a 0-12 record unless it’s RIZIN trying to line up a fight for Gabi?

    1. 1-6 is pretty ridiculous! How are they going to catch up to UFC or even hold on to their #2 status signing folks that bad? She belongs on regional cards at best.

    2. I was just about to mention Aastasia Bruce! The commission head actually denied her for the card! It looks like Bellator is curretly seeking a replacemet to face Valerie Loureda now.
