This Saturday’s UFC 230 event features an exciting women’s flyweight bout on the preliminary card when Sijara Eubanks takes on Roxanne Modafferi.
Eubanks (3-2) made a successful promotional debut this past June, picking up the dominant unanimous decision win over Lauren Murphy. The 33-year-old competed on The Ultimate Fighter 26 in 2017, defeating the likes of Maia Stevenson, DeAnna Bennett and Roxanne Modafferi to advance to the finals. Unfortunately after falling ill during her weight-cut, Eubanks was forced to pull out from her flyweight title fight against Nicco Montano and was replaced by Modafferi.
Modafferi (22-14) makes her third appearance as a UFC flyweight. In her most recent showing this past July, she successfully avenged a 2011 loss to Barb Honchak, picking up the second-round TKO. ‘The Happy Warrior’ now looks to avenge her TUF 26 loss to Eubanks and make her claim for another shot at the UFC flyweight title. The 36-year-old is considered a pioneer of women’s MMA, having competed as a professional since 2003 and defeating the likes of Marloes Coenen, Vanessa Porto, Tara LaRosa, Andrea Lee, Sarah D’Alelio and DeAnna Bennett.
UFC 230 takes place this Saturday November 3 from the Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, United States. The preliminary card featuring Eubanks vs. Modafferi will be aired live on Fox Sports 1 from 8pm EST.
