Sijara Eubanks responds to #TUFFinale withdrawal and ‘kidney failure’

In wake of this morning’s breaking news that Sijara Eubanks has been forced to withdraw from tomorrow’s Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale title fight against Nicco Montano, Sarj has released her first public statement. Check out what the TUF Finalist said below!

In her public statement, Sijara reveals that she was hospitalized due to “kidney failure” resulting from some “miscalculations” during her weight cut. Though thoroughly disappointed, she remains positive that she will stake her claim at the title in due time.

First of all, I’m a champion. Point blank. I will be UFC champion, but it’s God’s will that it won’t be Friday night. I’m a gangster and I’ve cut more weight than most male fighters, and unfortunately there were some miscalculations this cut, no excuses, I worked my ass off and went out on my shield. I was hospitalized early this morning for kidney failure but best believe I’ma be right back training and right back after that belt. This game is full of ups and downs, true champs know that and bounce back. Nicco and Roxanne I’m sure will have a great fight, and best wishes to both those ladies. True class, those two. Nothing changes, I’m still the queen and I will claim my throne. Thank you to all my coaches, friends and family and the wonderful staff at UFC. God is good and I am truly blessed. #Repost @ufconfox (@get_repost) ・・・ BREAKING: Sijara Eubanks is OUT. Roxanne Modafferi is IN vs. Nicco Montano for the UFC women’s flyweight title! Do you think Sarj can make 125 again?

  1. she’s right at the knife edge every time she makes a weight cut.
and has been over before, or am i wrong?
Dana needs to step in. bcause it’s not just her health, what if next fight it’s too late and it screws up the fight card? and fan’s hopes? Dana can keep her out of the division, it’s his right and rule. kidney failure….come on for god’s sake.

  2. Glad she is okay, but in the future, she needs to lower her walking around weight from being 155 pounds and higher, or move up to Bantamweight or even Featherweight since the UFC has both. This extreme weight cutting crap is just stupid.
