Sarah Patterson VS Jozette Cotton, lightweight world title | Tonight, 8:30pm ET | LIVE on FLOCOMBAT

Dynasty Combat Sports is set to make history when it introduces a world title belt for the 155-pound lightweight division tonight.

Jozette Cotton is back with a vengeance.

Jozette Cotton and Sarah Patterson are slated to fight for the inaugural women’s lightweight title tonight (Friday Sep. 1) in the co-main event of DCS 37.

Patterson (5-2), has been competing as a professional mixed martial artist since the year of 2002. She is riding high on a four-fight win streak which includes first round stoppages over Tamikka BrentsErica Grover and Kate Bloomfield, as well as a second round knockout over Killastina Makihele. ‘Primal’ is currently the No. 1 ranked lightweight contender in the world. She believes she will be the woman to put the lightweight division on the map, much like Cris Cyborg with the featherweights and Ronda Rousey with the bantamweights.

Cotton (6-1) was dethroned from her number one position in the lightweight world rankings last October after dropping a unanimous decision to Bobbi-Jo Dalziel. Prior to the loss, she was on a six-fight win streak which included first-round stoppages over Elsha Cleffman and Nikita Netjes. ‘The #1 Headbusta’ currently the No. 3 ranked lightweight according to the WMMA world rankings.
