This Friday’s PFL 2019 #7 event features an exciting women’s lightweight bout on the main card when Sarah Kaufman takes on Larissa Pacheco.
Kaufman (21-4-0) picked up an impressive first-round submission win over Morgan Frier in her PFL and 155-pound debut this past May. The 34-year-old is a veteran of the sport who has picked up wins over some of the biggest names in WMMA history, including Miesha Tate, Liz Carmouche, Alexis Davis and Shayna Baszler. She is currently ranked number-one in the world at lightweight in both the PFL and WMMA World Rankings.
Pacheco (12-3-0) has shown significant improvements to her game since her UFC days back in 2014 and 2015. The 25-year-old is coming off an impressive first-round armbar submission win over Bobbi-Jo Dalziel this past July, and in May became the first woman to take Kayla Harrison three-rounds in MMA, ultimately losing via unanimous decision.
The bout between Kaufman and Pacheco will serve as the semi-finals in the PFL women’s lightweight tournament in which the winner will receive $1 million dollars and become women’s lightweight champion of the world for 2019. The winner will face the victor of the Kayla Harrison vs. Genah Fabian bout, a bout which also takes place at this Friday’s event.
