Sarah Kaufman volunteers to step in versus Aspen Ladd at UFC 235

The decorated Canadian veteran is ready to throw down.

On Thursday at a UFC 235 press conference, UFC President Dana White revealed that a scheduled bantamweight bout between Holly Holm and Aspen Ladd was no longer happening.

White did not provide further details about the cancellation, but did say there would be a new match-up coming for both fighters.

At this time, it is rumored that Amanda Nunes vs. Holly Holm is in the works for the UFC 237 headliner, though it is nothing but speculation at this time.

Soon after, Invicta FC bantamweight champion and former UFC bantamweight contender Sarah Kaufman took to Twitter to express her in interest in facing Ladd at UFC 235 in March.

Kaufman last fought in May, submitting Katharina Lehner to claim the Invicta FC bantamweight strap. Kaufman has been vocal about being ready to defend her title and fight her way back to the UFC.

  1. Yes! Sarah she was queen of the wmma world at one point. Let her fight. It’s just too bad that she’s not considered by the UFC brass as attractive and so they don’t want to risk her beating up their favorite girls

  2. I’d be up for that fight. I doubt is Sarah was dropped or not brought on due to her appearance, as they feature far less attractive “ladies” as well. But I am curious as to why they dropped her after a split decision loss to Shevchenko and a loss to former top contender Alexis Davis.

    1. I read the official story a long time ago. Her contract ran out, and they didn’t agree on the money for a new contract. Was something along those lines. She wasn’t cut!

      1. she needs to go to the Jessica Eye school of employee-boss relations. Jessica , the rumors go, is or has been Dana’s ahem… “little friend”, and look she is getting a title shot.
