Ronda Rousey joins WWE’s Triple H for the “Mae Young Classic” tournament

Former UFC bantamweight champion and WMMA pioneer Ronda Rousey has long been rumoured to be joining the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). It appears this move could be coming sooner rather than later.

Rousey could be set to take on a full-time role with the WWE.

Paul “Triple H” Levesque, the WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent, posted a picture to his Instagram page which featured himself and Rousey along with the caption “The #MaeYoungClassic will celebrate and showcase female competitors from around the world. Great to have @RondaRousey join us tonight“. (Scroll down to see the original post).

The WWE is currently in the middle of filming a 32-woman tournament titled the “Mae Young Classic”, the winner will receive a full time contract with the organization. Rousey is present for the tapings, however it is not yet known what her role will be or whether she is simply present to watch and observe the other athletes.

The 30-year-old previously appeared on WWE programming back in March 2015 as part of the Wrestlemania 31 pay-per-view event.

“Rowdy” is currently on a two-fight losing streak in MMA competition, following knockout losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes.
