Roberta Samad on Arlene Blencowe: “Her time will come, one day we will have to fight”

Bellator MMA featherweight Roberta Samad has issued a message to Arlene Blencowe. The latter will be challenging Julia Budd for the organization’s 145-pound world title this Friday.

Samad warns Arlene Blencowe that “her time will come”.

Earlier this month, Samad (4-1-0) made it known that she does not feel Blencowe is deserving of the shot. Blencowe responded by saying that Samad is trying to stay relevant by trashing other fighters.

Now, Samad has hit out at Blencowe’s latest comments and warns that “her time will come” and says one day the two will have to meet.

I have nothing against Arlene, but one day we will have to fight. I’m not in a hurry, I just want to show that I have the conditions to be at the top of the division.” Samad told WMMA Rankings.

Arlene said that she would only fight with an opponent who was on top. Unlike her, I fight with any opponent that Bellator provides me. I am prepared for any challenge, I understand that it would be really bad if the number-three ranked featherweight lost to someone who is ‘irrelevant’, but her time will come.” she continued.

Samad’s only career loss comes to Julia Budd via unanimous decision.

Samad made her Bellator MMA debut in November 2015, losing her undefeated record to reigning champion Julia Budd via unanimous decision. Since then, life has been very busy for Samad, she has got married, moved to the USA and given birth to a child. The 29-year-old is now ready to make her return to the cage and work her way up to a rematch against Budd.

My debut in Bellator was, without taking credit from my opponent Julia Budd, worse than I expected. My recovery after the weigh-in was not very good, and the debut distracting. After my pregnancy I didn’t stop and I’m evolving every day. I participate in competitions and I’m preparing my physique for the great return” Samad said.

  1. Judging from the overwhelming response you received, I guess the fans are NOT excited for Samad’s return to the cage. Unfortunately, I would imagine that with the exception of Cyborg vs. Holm, few are excited about the Featherweight Division period. A couple of other fights I would like to see, but am well short of excited to see, include Cyborg vs. Anderson and Cyborg vs, Budd. Of course, that interest could change if Budd loses to Blencowe.

  2. YOU DO NOT KNOW ME AND I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED, CYBORG IS IN A DIFFERENT EVENT IMPOSSIBLE AT THE MOMENT JULIA BUDD CAMP WIDE THE WAIST AND ENTER UFC SO TO FIGHT CRIS AND RIDICULOUS THOUGHT, BOTH EVENTS ARE NEEDING OUR CATEGORY THERE ARE MUCH LITTLE GIRLS, I DO NOT CARE WHAT PEOPLE WHO DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING FROM MY CAREER AND ALSO TO MY SEE YOU DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT WMMA GIVE STUPID OPINION !!! MY MOMENT WILL COME THAT’S RIGHT AND EVERYONE WILL SEE ME AT TOP OF AGAIN!
