Yarbrough, who has previously competed for ROAD FC and RIZIN FF, hasn’t fought since her December 2017 win over Begimzhan Kasymova. The 29-year-old has been suffering from a string of injuries which have required surgery.

Earlier this week, Yarbrough took to her Facebook page to announce she has finally been cleared to return.

Bout Damn Time. Today I got cleared from the doc! No restrictions! I’ve come a long way since October 11th. I’m happy beyond word. Grateful AF! I have hella people That have been there for me during this crazy healing stage. I’m truly grateful to have people apart of my universe that truly care. To Everyone I truly appreciate all the check ups, well wishes, prayers, shares, laughter, jokes etc etc, but most importantly the Love!! Great things coming!” Yarbrough wrote.

Destanie Yarbrough is a former WFA football star.

Yarbrough (2-1) made her professional MMA debut in April 2016, picking up a sensational first-round TKO win over Crystal Parson. She would go on to lose via submission to Gabi Garcia at the RIZIN event on September 25 2016, before rebounding in 2017 with a dominant decision win over Begimzhan Kasymova at ROAD FC 45.

The Buhawe Muay Thai standout entered MMA following a strong sporting background, having competed as a semi-professional football player for the Central California War Angels. As well as competition, Yarbrough is a strong advocate for body positivity and through social media, encourages her fans to be confident within themselves.

The heavyweight star took part in an interview with WMMA Rankings last month, revealing plans for a 2020 professional boxing career, as well as potential MMA fights against Gabi Garcia and Veronika Futina. Click HERE to view the interview.
