RIZIN FF heavyweight Gabi Garcia has announced she has returned to MMA training after almost a year away from competition.

Garcia (6-0-0) last fought in professional MMA competition at the RIZIN 14 event in December 2018, picking up the first-round submission win over kickboxing champion, Barbara Nepomuceno. The 33-year-old spent the majority of 2019 shifting her focus back to BJJ competition, winning gold at at the Pan Jiu Jitsu IBJJF Championships in June and at the ADCC championships last month.

It appears as though the Brazilian is gearing up for a return to MMA competition. On Wednesday evening, Garcia excitedly took to her Instagram story to announce she has returned to MMA training.

RIZIN and Bellator MMA have teamed up to host a joint event on December 29, with RIZIN also hosting an individual event on December 31. It is highly possible that Garcia could be featured on either of these cards.
