RIZIN 2017 in Fukuoka results: King Reina defeats Crystal Stokes via unanimous decision

King Reina defeated Crystal Stokes via unanimous decision at the ‘RIZIN 2017 in Fukuoka’ earlier today. Reina appeared to get the better of the first and third rounds, whilst the much taller Stokes had some good moments in the second.

Reina improves her undefeated record to 7-0-0. She is currently the number-one ranked women’s welterweight fighter in the world, according to the WMMA world rankings. Since making her professional debut in November 2016, the 21-year-old has remained very active, picking up notable victories over the likes of Shayna Baszler, Kristin Handel, as well as the much larger heavyweight competitors in Lei’D Tapa and Jazzy Gabert. Tonight she defended her number-one position and is continuing prove to the world why she is the best welterweight fighter on the planet.

Stokes (0-1), a close friend and training partner of UFC featherweight champion, Cris Cyborg, was making her professional debut. The 38-year-old, who stands at 6’0, competed as a gymnast for 20 years, as well as serving eleven years as a United States Marine. She currently plays Women’s Professional Football as a Defensive End for the San Diego Surge and has been training in MMA for several years now.
