Kanna Asakura defeated Sylwia Juskiewicz via unanimous decision at the ‘RIZIN 2017 in Fukuoka’ earlier today. The bout served as a first-round bout in the women’s super atomweight tournament,Asakura successfully advances to the semi-finals which are set to take place in December.
Asakura improves her record to 9-2-0, putting herself on an impressive four-fight winning streak following previous victories over Saori Ishioka, Aleksandra Toncheva and Natsuki Shimomakise. The 20-year-old’s sole career losses come to the much bigger strawweight competitor in Syuri Kondo, as well as Alyssa Garcia who is also competing in the super atomweight tournament.
Juskiewicz falls to 7-5-0, snapping her five-fight win streak which she had achieved in professional MMA competition. The 23-year-old actively competes in kickboxing as well as MMA, she owns a notable kickboxing victory over Bellator MMA standout, Lena Ovchynnikova.
