Rin Nakai returns from injury to battle Young Ji Kim at Deep 82 Impact on February 24

A women’s flyweight fight between Rin Nakai and Young Ji Kim has been added to the Deep 82 Impact event on February 24.

Rin Nakai makes her highly anticipated return to the cage on February 24.

Nakai (19-2-1) will be returning from a 14-month layoff, with her last appearance being at the RIZIN event in December 2016 when she earned a unanimous decision win over Kanako Murata. The 31-year-old previously competed in the UFC bantamweight division but was released from her contract after dropping decisions to elite competition in Miesha Tate and Leslie Smith. The Japanese star owns a notable 2014 win over top Invicta FC flyweight, Sarah D’Alelio.

Ji Kim (1-2-0) is coming off an impressive unanimous decision win over the much heavier middleweight competitor in Yoshiko Hirano at last month’s ROAD FC event. This will be her second appearance under the DEEP banner after finding herself victim of a first-round armbar submission against King Reina this past September.

  1. King Reina? Isn’t she about 30 pounds heavier than Young Ji Kim? Do they have open divisions over there at Deep? I think Kim will have her hands full with Rin even though she’s much lighter than Reina.
