REPORT: Amanda Ribas vs. Paige VanZant rebooked for July 11

Per Raphael Marinho of Combate, a matchup between Paige VanZant and Amanda Ribas has been rebooked for an upcoming UFC event on July 11– this time at 125-pounds.

Ribas (9-1) was originally scheduled to face VanZant in March, however, an arm injury forced “12 Guage” out of the bout. Ribas instead fought Randa Markos, winning by unanimous decision. After the fight she expressed in having the VanZant fight rebooked– at 115 or 125 pounds.

VanZant (8-4) has been out of action since January of 2019 due to multiple arm injuries. In her last outing, she defeated Rachael Ostovich via second round submission. During the time off, VanZant has said she was open to returning to strawweight or flyweight.

    1. Dana is after # of views, especially it being part of a PPV. He is probably putting this on the main card. He knows PVZ brings viewers.

      1. That part is known, sure. I guess I’m more specifically saying it’s a waste of a Ribas. A win over Paige does nothing for her, a loss to her would be a bit of a blemish.
