First reported by ESPN‘s Brett Okamoto, a bantamweight title match is headed to Las Vegas at UFC 245 on Dec. 14.
Sources say that the bantamweight and featherweight queen, Amanda Nunes (18-4), will look to defend her 135-pounds strap versus Dutch Muay Thai specialist Germaine de Randamie (9-3) at the T-Mobile Arena.
Nunes defended her bantamweight title at UFC 239 in July when she defeated Holly Holm via first round TKO. The upcoming bout will be Nunes’ fifth bantamweight title defense.
de Randamie punched her ticket to a championship opportunity with a 16-second TKO of Aspen Ladd in the main event of UFC Sacramento. GDR was the first UFC featherweight champion– a title she vacated when she chose not to fight Cris Cyborg.
This will be a rematch. Nunes and de Randamie fought at UFC Fight Night 31 in 2013, with Nunes emerging victorious via first round TKO.
