The scheduled UFC 215 women’s bantamweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko has been promoted to the headlining slot, following the cancellation of the previous main event between Demetrious Johnson and Ray Borg.
Nunes (14-4-0) previously fought Shevchenko (14-2) back in March 2016, winning by way of a unanimous decision. However, although Nunes won the first two rounds, Shevchenko completely turned things around and dominated the third round. This has led many to believe that Shevchenko will emerge victorious in a five-round fight, due to Nunes’ cardio issues.
Headlining the Fox Sports 1 prelims portion of the card will be a potential title eliminator when Sara McMann (11-3-0) takes on undefeated Ketlen Vieira (8-0-0). Also featured on the FS1 card is another 135-pound fight when Ashlee (5-2-0) Evans-Smith takes on Sarah Moras (4-2-0).
