This Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 4 event features an exciting bantamweight bout on the preliminary card when Raquel Pennington battles Irene Aldana.
Pennington (9-7) unsuccessfully challenged Amanda Nunes for the bantamweight title in May 2018, losing by way of a fifth-round TKO. The 30-year-old was unsuccessful in her return to the cage last November, losing a unanimous decision to Germaine de Randamie. Prior to the two-fight losing skid, Pennington was on a four-fight win streak which included wins over Miesha Tate, Jessica Andrade and Bethe Correia.
Aldana (10-4) is riding high on a three-fight win streak after taking out Bethe Correia, Lucie Pudilova and Talita Bernardo. The 31-year-old now looks to pick up the biggest win of her career against a former title challenger in the hopes of inserting her own name into title contention.
UFC on ESPN 4 takes place this Saturday July 20 from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, United States. The preliminary card featuring Pennington vs. Aldana will be aired live on ESPN+ from 6pm EST.
