This Saturday in the UFC 214 co-main event, a strawweight contest will go down when TUF 20’s Randa Markos takes on Mexico’s Alexa Grasso.
Markos (7-4-0), also known as the “Quiet Storm”, is coming off the biggest win of her career after taking out former UFC strawweight champion Carla Esparza at the UFC Fight Night 105 event in February. She was previously a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 20, picking up notable wins over Felice Herrig and Tecia Torres, before losing out to Rose Namajunas in the semi-finals. She has gone 3-3 since her TUF experience and now looks to build on her victory over Esparza and put herself into title contention.
Grasso (9-1-0) looks to rebound from the first loss of her professional career to Felice Herrig back in February. She made her UFC debut last November, dominating Heather Jo Clark for the unanimous decision victory. Prior to signing with the UFC, she was dominating the 115-pound division in Invicta FC, defeating the likes of Jodie Esquibel, Ashley Cummins and Mizuki Inoue. The 23-year-old trains at the Lobo Gym MMA, along with UFC bantamweight Irene Aldana.
UFC Fight Night 114 takes place this Saturday August 5 from the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico. The main card featuring Markos VS Grasso will be aired live on Fox Sports 1 from 10pm ET, 7pm PT.
