Priscila Cachoeira set for December UFC return following bloody beatdown at the hands of Shevchenko this past February

Priscila Cachoeira’s coach has revealed that he hopes his fighter will be ready to return to the UFC cage this December.

Cachoeira suffered a serious knee injury at this past February’s event.

Cachoeira (8-1) made her UFC debut this past February, losing by way of a rear-naked choke submission to Valentina Shevchenko in the second-round of their UFC Fight Night 125 encounter. The beat-down left Cachoeira with a serious knee injury that required surgery. Six months on and Coach Parana recently told MMA Fighting that Cachoeira is doing better and fans can expect a December return to the cage.

Pedrita’ is doing great now,” Parana said. “I’ll ask for a fight in December. I’ll just wait for one more month, and if she keeps evolving, doing the right things, I’ll ask for a fight in December. If everything goes right, she will probably fight in December.”

She’s doing grappling positions on the ground, but not rolling yet,” Parana said. “She’s hitting pads but only to move the arms, without moving the legs. And she’s working out in the gym with no problem. I believe she will be cleared to train fighting in a month.”

WMMA World Rankings

Fight fans, are you excited to see Cachoeira return to the cage? Who would you like to see her fight next? Let us know in the comments section below.

  1. I’ll be curious to see how she does against those outside the top 10. Many called her a can but she had a pretty good record against a lot of fighters I knew nothing about. What she lacked in technique, she seemed to make up for in physicality.

  2. She’s very courageous and should not have been put up against the Bullet in her very first UFC fight. I also hope she never gets Yamasaki as referee again.

  3. Well, Molly McCann also wants to push past her debut loss and compete again before the end of the year… maybe that’s the fight? 🤷🏾‍♂️
