Priscila Cachoeira’s coach has revealed that he hopes his fighter will be ready to return to the UFC cage this December.
Cachoeira (8-1) made her UFC debut this past February, losing by way of a rear-naked choke submission to Valentina Shevchenko in the second-round of their UFC Fight Night 125 encounter. The beat-down left Cachoeira with a serious knee injury that required surgery. Six months on and Coach Parana recently told MMA Fighting that Cachoeira is doing better and fans can expect a December return to the cage.
“Pedrita’ is doing great now,” Parana said. “I’ll ask for a fight in December. I’ll just wait for one more month, and if she keeps evolving, doing the right things, I’ll ask for a fight in December. If everything goes right, she will probably fight in December.”
“She’s doing grappling positions on the ground, but not rolling yet,” Parana said. “She’s hitting pads but only to move the arms, without moving the legs. And she’s working out in the gym with no problem. I believe she will be cleared to train fighting in a month.”
