A women’s strawweight fight between Poliana Botelho and Syuri Kondo is being targeted for the UFC Fight Night event on May 19, the news was first confirmed by Brazil’s Combate.
Botelho (6-1) made a successful promotional debut last November, earning herself a unanimous decision over Pearl Gonzalez. The 29-year-old Brazilian trains at the Team Nova Uniao along with a number of high-profile fellow-UFC stars and is currently on a four-fight win streak, including three knockouts.
Kondo (6-0) will also be making her second UFC appearance, following a split decision win over Chanmi Jeon in her debut last September. The 29-year-old from Japan has yet to be defeated in her professional career with all her victories coming by way of decisions, bar a 2016 first-round knockout over Sharma Devaiah.
UFC Fight Night takes place on May 19 from the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile. The event will be aired live on Fox Sports 1.
