This Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 129 event features a pair of exciting strawweight prospects on its preliminary card when Poliana Botelho battles Syuri Kondo.
Botelho (6-1) is a 29-year-old who trains at the Nova União gym along with former UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo. The Brazilian, a former wrestling champion, will be making her second promotional appearance following a successful debut last October when she dominated Pearl Gonzalez for the unanimous decision win.
Kondo (6-0), also 29-years-old, looks to follow up on her successful promotional debut last September when she picked up the split decision win over Chan Mi Jeon. The undefeated Japanese standout trains at the Vos Gym in Tokyo. As well as competing as an MMA fighter, she also performs as a professional wrestler and has worked with WWE’s Asuka on multiple occasions.
UFC Fight Night 129 takes place this Saturday May 19 from the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile. The preliminary card featuring Botelho vs. Kondo will be aired live on Fox Sports 2 from 8pm EST.
