PFL President of Fighter Operations Ray Sefo said in a press release; “Kayla Harrison is a U.S. household name and the favorite heading into the season, but she’ll be facing strong competition from around the world, including top fighters from Brazil, Canada, New Zealand, and Russia who want to enforce their will in the cage.

The second season of PFL begins on May 9.

  1. No Jozette Cotton, whose 8-2, no King Reina Miura, whose 10-2, and only 22 years old, no Cindy Dandois, whose 12-5, and just find ways to be a active fighter, no Kaitlin Young, who after a 4 year hiatus, has become active again and won two in a row, no Brittney Elkin, Sarah Patterson, and Moriel Charneski, who are all fighters in the lightweight division who just want to find a organization to stay active and of course get paid. The PFL could have had a much better field than what they put together. Seriously, what sense does the PFL field makes? Sarah Kaufman has 24 fights, yet Genah Fabian has a whopping 1 MMA fight. Hopefully, Jozette Cotton and Brittney Elkin and Sarah Kaufman and Moriel Charneski and others can slide into the PFL season in future showcase fights or in case of a fighter getting some unfortunate scratched from a card situation.

  2. Rodney P- you nailed it. By and large, the women’s lightweight tournament is more noteworthy for who isn’t in the tournament than who is. Underwhelming and disappointing.
