PFL 2 results: Kayla Harrison victorious in MMA debut, submits Brittney Elkin in the very first round

Thursday night at the PFL 2 event, Kayla Harrison emerged victorious in her MMA debut after submitting Brittney Elkin in the very first round of their lightweight encounter. 

Is Kayla Harrison destined to become MMA’s next superstar?

The finish came at 3:18 of the very first-round after Harrison locked in the armbar.

Harrison begins her MMA career with a 1-0-0 record. The 27-year-old was receiving a huge amount of hype leading into the bout due to her successful Judo career which saw her win the 2010 World Championships, gold medals at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, and gold at the 2011 and 2015 Pan American Games. Many are tipping Harrison for superstardom, much like fellow Olympic Medalist and former training partner, Ronda Rousey.

Elkin drops to 3-5-0. losing two of her last three. She owns a notable first-round knockout win over Kola Shippentower, as well as a unanimous decision victory over Bellator MMA’s Gabrielle Holloway.
