Atomweight contender Paulina Granados is not a fan of fellow Combate Americas star, Kyra Batara.
Kyra Batara (5-4-0) is set to return to action on February 16th when she takes on Vanessa Rico Fernandez (2-2-0). Batara has received a lot of hype from the organization as of late. During the commentary of their last event they branded Batara as one of the most dangerous atomweights on the planet and said they find it difficult to find opponents for her because of how good she is.
Granados (4-2-0) says “spoiled little child” Batara is undeserving of the hype. She can’t wait to someday be locked in the cage with her.
“I feel she is overhyped and I wasn’t offered a fight with her until after my last win over Jenna Serio. She is a loud mouth spoiled little child and I absolutely cannot wait for the cage to be locked behind me when I beat her ass” Granados said.
29-year-old Granados is currently the number fourteen ranked atomweight in the world according to the Women’s MMA World Rankings presented by WMMA Rankings. She holds impressive victories over Sarah Lagerstrom, Maria Lopez and Jenna Serio and more. Her sole career losses come by way of close decisions to the number nine ranked Tessa Simpson, and number eight ranked Julia Jones.
Granados, also known as “Firefox” has been out with an injury and has only recently completed successful surgery. She plans to make her return around May. “I just got surgery last month but I’m looking to come back as soon as May“. There is no doubt when she does make her return, she’ll be wanting a fight with Batara.
“Firefox” trains out of Alliance MMA, the gym behind high level UFC athletes including Dominick Cruz, Cat Zingano, Alexander Gustafsson, as well as UFC strawweights Jessica Penne, Bec Rawlings, Angela Hill and many more.
