Pannie Kianzad replaces Melissa Gatto, faces Julia Avila at UFC 239

A women’s bantamweight fight at UFC 239 has undergone a change. The replacement fighter is getting a second chance at fighting in the Octagon.

Melissa Gatto was originally scheduled to fight incoming Invicta fighter Julia “Raging Panda” Avila, but Gatto has pulled out of the fight for unknown reasons.

In Gatto’s place comes Pannie Kianzad, who competed in the recent Ultimate Fighter 28, losing in the finals to rising star Macy Chiasson.

Avila (6-1) comes from Invicta off an impressive win over Alexa Connors via front kick and punches. Her only loss is via injury against Marciea Allen. Kianzad (11-4) has wins over Jessica Rose-Clark and Kerry Hughes. Most of her losses have come against high-level competition, including Sarah Kaufman and Tonya Evinger.

Who do you think will win this contest of debuting UFC fighters? Avila or Kianzad?
