Pam Sorenson hopeful the UFC will still sign the established featherweights despite most of them not being picked for TUF 28

Pam Sorenson is hopeful that the UFC will be signing some of the established female featherweights despite the majority of them not being picked for the upcoming TUF 28 season.

Sorenson believes she has what it takes to be the UFC’s next star as part of the featherweight division.

TUF 28 will feature female featherweights and male heavyweights, the female cast was revealed earlier this week. Fans have been less than pleased with the selections as they believe the true featherweights have been snubbed from the show. Fighters such as Cindy Dandois and Zarah Fairn Dos Santos have also hit out at the selected cast. The latest fighter to release a statement on the situation is Invicta FC veteran, Pam ‘Bam’ Sorenson.

Sorenson (7-2) has fought at featherweight in her last three fights and is currently riding high on a two-fight win streak which includes an impressive first-round submission win over the highly-touted striking specialist in Helena Kolesnyk. The 32-year-old was one of the many established featherweights to not be picked for the show, she took to her Instagram to air her thoughts.

I guess I’ll just sit here “patiently” waiting on my next fight. Keeping my fingers crossed that Dana White, Mick Maynard and Sean Shelby are going to sign all of us top featherweights while TUF 28 is filming and give Cris Cyborg a REAL #1 contender.” Sorenson wrote.

  1. This is the mistake I hate to see MMA fighters do, and that is not keeping all their options open. Have her management team put fliers out to Bellator, Road FC, Professional Fighters League, and pretty much every where so they can get fights, give themselves more exposure, build their brand, give themselves more cage time, and so on. Fighters need to stop being in holding patterns and keep their options open.

    1. Fortunately, Pam didn’t say she wasn’t (keeping all of her options open.) Personally, I think the UFC will be dropping FW once Cris retires or moves on in the not too distant future. If not, then they should be bringing on the “top featherweights” (hard to think of any of them as a serious contender to Cyborg) and have a tournament to determine a top contender and have her fight the winner of TUF to see who gets the honor of taking on Cyborg.

  2. To the idiot JR YUEN I guess she actually has to say the exact words she isn’t keeping her options, but to anyone with reading comprehension who isn’t stupid like JR YUEN, Pam Sorensen statement actually reads she will sit patiently waiting on Dana White and the UFC. And what a surprise the nay saying troll JR YUEN posts a statement that the Women’s Featherweight division won’t make it in the UFC. So surprising that JR YUEN would take the negative. Freaking pathetic MMA fan.

    1. My, Rodney, you sure take anything that doesn’t concur with your perceptions awfully personally. What, I’m not allowed to have an opinion? If you happened to read her remarks, you would see that she is actually “patiently” waiting for her next fight, and by way of implication, she hopes the UFC signs her and fellow top FW’s up in the meantime.

How about focusing your energy on showing me how I’m wrong rather than resorting to disparaging remarks? I’d be most interested in why you think the UFC is serious about a FW division when after over 2 years since bringing Cris over to the UFC, she and Megan are the only true FW’s in the division, that all of Cris opponents have been BW’s, and given most of the fighters in the “FW” TUF are either BW’s or fighters that could easily drop to BW w/a decent weight program. It seems to me, that this is a means of replenishing their depleted BW division while placating Cris to some degree and giving the impression that they are working on a FW division.

    1. I know it must come as a shock to you, Rodney, but not everyone participating on this site lives on the East Coast, or gasp! even the U.S. It would be a nice change of pace if you contributed something informative to this site rather than simply hurling insults, but I guess that’s asking too much.
