Fan favorites collide at this Saturday’s ‘UFC on ESPN+ 1’ event when “12 Gauge” Paige VanZant returns to take on TUF 26 standout, Rachael Ostovich.
VanZant (7-4) returns after almost one year away from competition after suffering a broken arm during a bout against Jessica-Rose Clark at UFC Fight Night 124. The 24-year-old is keen to show the world what she is capable of at 125-pounds after a 4-2 run at 115-pounds in which she picked up impressive wins over Felice Herrig, Bec Rawlings, Alex Chambers and Kailin Curran, but losing by way of submissions to Rose Namajunas and Michelle Waterson.
Ostovich (4-4) is 1-1 since making her UFC debut, picking up a first-round submission win over Karine Gevorgyan, but losing by way of a submission to Montana De La Rosa. The 27-year-old, who was coached by Justin Gaethje on The Ultimate Fighter 26, made headlines late last year after finding herself victim of and publicly speaking about her domestic abuse.
UFC on ESPN+ 1 takes place this Saturday January 19 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, United States. The main card featuring VanZant vs. Ostovivch will be aired live on ESPN+ from 10pm EST.
