ONE Dynasty of Heroes: Angela Lee improves to 8-0, retains 115-pound world title

Friday night at the ONE Championship Dynasty of Heroes event in Singapore, undefeated Angela Lee successfully defended her atomweight world title by handing Brazil’s Istela Nunes her first career loss after submitting her at 2:18 of the second round by way of a choke. Unlike most organizations, ONE Championship calls their 115-pound division the atomweight division, whilst most call it strawweight.

“Unstoppable” Lee improves her record to 8-0-0. She won the title back in May 2016 after defeating Mei Yamaguchi by way of unanimous decision. She followed up in March 2017 with her first successful title defense, submitting Jenny Huang in the third round by way of strikes. Seven of her eight career victories come by way of brutal finishes.

Meanwhile, Nunes suffers the first loss of her career and is now 6-1-0. The 24-year-old made her ONE debut last August, defeating Mei Yamaguchi via unanimous decision, earning herself a shot at Lee.

ONE Championship Dynasty Of Heroes took place from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. The event was aired live on pay-per-view.
