ONE Championship 59 results: May Ooi with the huge upset, submits Ann Osman in the first round

Flyweight contender, May Ooi, picked up the biggest victory of her career at Friday’s ONE Championship 59 event, submitting Ann Osman in the very first round by way of a rear-naked choke.

Ooi improves her record to 3-2-0, successfully ending a two-fight losing streak. The 41-year-old is a former olympic swimmer who transitioned to MMA in 2013. She has 100% finish rate, finishing all her career victories by way of knockouts and submissions. She lives in Singapore and trains out of the Brazilian Fight Club MMA.

Osman, also known as “Athena”, drops to 5-4-0. The 31-year-old has competed in all nine of her professional bouts under the ONE Champion banner. All her career victories come in the first round, with submission wins over Haiat Youssef and Walaa Kamaly, as well as a knockout over Aya Saber.

ONE Championship: Quest for Greatness (also known as ONE Championship 59) took place on Friday August 18 from the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event was aired live on pay-per-view from 7am EST via the official ONE FC website.
