Undefeated strawweights do battle tonight when Syuri Kondo faces Minna Grusander at Pancrase 284. The event will be aired live on UFC Fight Pass from 1am EST, following the UFC Fight Night event.
Grusander (2-0-0) is looking to make a statement in what is no doubt the biggest fight of her career. She reveals she is eager to challenge the top strawweights in the world.
“It’s a huge chance for me to get to top off this Pancrase event and show my talent to the whole MMA world via Fight Pass. 2. A big win with a powerful performance on Sunday could be just what I need to get my pro career to truly take off. I’m still deliberating whether I should fight as a strawweight or an atomweight, but of course if you look at the strawweight division in UFC, there are the most talented strawweight fighters and that would be the group I’d be eager to challenge.”
The 27-year-old is very confident when it comes to the fight. She believes she will dominate her opponent in any area of MMA.
“I’ve understood that she is a good fighter and I’m sure I’ll get to show my all-around MMA-skills on Sunday but finally I’ll be the one dominating the fight in any part of MMA.”
Grusander reveals following the victory, she plans to stay very active and rise up the rankings. She already has her next two fights booked.
“‘I’d like to get to fight pretty frequently and challenge some of the top ranked fighters – and of course break into the top rankings myself as well. Actually I already have two fights coming up this spring. On March 11th I’ll take on Elena Belaya in Turku Fight 7 and I’m also booked on Fight Night Finland FNF14 on May 6th. Let’s see where I’m heading and who to challenge after that.”
Minna Grusander takes on fellow undefeated prospect Syuri Kondo in the main event of Pancrase 284. The event will be aired live on UFC Fight Pass in the early hours of Sunday morning from 1am EST.
