Former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate recently shared her thoughts on the New York State Athletic Commission’s rules on fighters who have breast implants.
In April, at UFC 210 in Albany, a strawweight fight between Cynthia Calvillo and Pearl Gonzalez was almost scrapped from the card at the very last minute due to Gonzalez having breast implants.
Gonzalez was told her fight was cancelled due to her implants. However, the UFC talked to the commission and the fight ended up taking place.
“I think that’s silly,” Tate said about the situation. “That shouldn’t even be a possible discussion. I think that a man made that rule and it’s extremely stupid.”
