Former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate recently looked back on one of her favorite memories with UFC president Dana White.
On her Instagram page, Tate shared a photo she had taken with White following her August 2012 victory over Julie Kedzie at the “Strikeforce: Rousey VS Kaufman” event. Despite taking a beating in the early rounds of the fight, Tate was able to weather the storm and pick up the third round armbar submission victory. This was Tate’s last fight outside the UFC.
“Cupcake” went on to have a successful run inside the Octagon, with her biggest moment coming in March 2016 when she defeated Holly Holm to capture the UFC bantamweight championship. She retired from MMA competition in November 2016 and is widely considered as a pioneer of the sport.
