‘The Karate Hottie’ believes she could be getting the first shot at the new UFC strawweight champion, Jessica Andrade.
Waterson (17-6-0) is currently on an impressive three-fight win streak and believes she’s ready to claim her first UFC championship. The 33-year-old, who was in attendance at this past Saturday’s UFC 237 event, spoke about Andrade’s victory in a post-fight interview.
“Main event brought the heat. I thought Rose was doing amazing, Andrade showed tons of heart, came back, did that frickin Andrade slam I was talking about and took it home. I’m glad Rose is okay. Congratulations Andrade, hopefully it’s me and you next.” Waterson said.
The JacksonWink MMA standout trains alongside the likes of Jon Jones and Holly Holm. Since arriving at the UFC, she’s picked up promotional wins over the likes of Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Felice Herrig, Paige VanZant and Cortney Casey. Prior to signing with the UFC, Waterson had held the Invicta FC atomweight title.
