This Friday’s ONE Championship event is set to feature an exciting women’s 125-pound clash between Michelle Nicolini and Iryna Kyselova.
Nicolini (4-1) is an active BJJ practitioner as well as mixed martial arts competitor. The 36-year-old holds a black belt under Robert Drysdale and is an ADCC and 8x BJJ black belt World Champion. The Brazilian has only suffered one career loss in MMA, a 2014 unanimous decision to Norma Rueda Center. All of her career victories come by way of submissions in the very first round.
Kyselova (11-2) is a veteran mixed martial artist who is set to compete in her fourteenth fight. The 22-year-old fights out of Ukraine and possesses an impressive submission game of her own. She is coming off a five-fight win streak, the last four being first-round submissions and the previous being a knockout.
Both women will be looking to make a statement and put themselves in line for a shot at ONE’s 125-pound champion, Jingnan Xiong. It should be noted that unlike most organizations, ONE refers to their 125-pound weight-class as the strawweight division rather than the flyweight division.
ONE Championship: Kings of Courage takes place this Friday March 9 from the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The main card featuring Nicolini vs. Kyselova will be aired live on PPV via ONE’s official site from 7am EST.
