A women’s flyweight fight between Melinda Fabian and Ji-Yeon Kim is being targeted for the UFC Fight Night 132 event on June 23, taking place in Singapore. The news was first reported by John Hyon Ko.
Fabian (4-3-2) makes her second promotional appearance after a disappointing majority draw in her debut last December when up against DeAnna Bennett at the TUF 26 Finale. The 30-year-old competed on The Ultimate Fighter 26, coached by Eddie Alvarez, finding herself victim of a first-round submission at the hands of Rachael Ostovich in the opening bout. Fighting out of Budapest, Hungary, Fabian has finished all of her career wins, three first-round submissions and one second-round submission.
Yeon Kim (7-1-2) makes her third promotional appearance after losing a decision to Lucie Pudilova in her debut but then rebounding with a decision win of her own against Justine Kish. The 28-year-old, also known as “Fire Fist”, was the 2012 Olympic champion in fencing. She owns three submissions wins and one by way of a knockout.
UFC Fight Night 132 takes place on June 23 from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.
