Megan Anderson hints at upcoming fight announcement

Former Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Megan Anderson posted a cryptic message to her social media feed.

The Aussie featherweight contender posted the below image and caption on Instagram.

Amazing day for alot of different reasons. Excited for what's in store.

Post-UFC 222, Anderson took to Twitter to call for the rebooking of her featherweight title shot opposite Cris Cyborg.

Anderson has been waiting to make her UFC debut since she pulled out of a championship fight with Cris Cyborg for undisclosed personal reasons. Prior to signing with the UFC, Anderson captured the vacant Invicta FC featherweight title by knocking out Charmaine Tweet in the second round in January of last year. She currently rides a four-fight win streak with all four victories coming by way of KO/TKO.
Who would you like Anderson to fight in her UFC debut? Cris Cyborg? Holly Holm? Someone else?

  1. She fought 3 times in 2016, once in Jan 2017, and it’s going on a while. Backlash against her has been building for some time now, as she posts all these super confident social media posts and her youtube vids with Laura Sanko….all that is great but with no fights, it’s a big disconnect for fans to understand. I think she’s great. But she or someone needs to sign some paper and bring her back to relevance.

    1. I completely agree, Joolz. I like Megan but I have a really hard time justifying her posts calling for her title shot and all this. Not that she has to explain her situation to anyone, but she shouldnt talk trash and do call outs if shes not willing and/or able to accept fights at the moment.

  2. Holm said she wants to fight at 145 again — I reckon put her against Anderson. Or bring Leah Letson into play. A title fight after such a lay-off sounds like a terrible idea to me in any case, worse still versus Cyborg.
